This art print is based on a painting I made after a rainy day on holiday in Wales, some years ago. It was June and we had just taken a brisk walk through the fields with our dog, in search of the local pub in the nearby village when it began pouring with rain. However, being summertime, it was also quite warm, so we took off our jackets and were - all three of us - thoroughly soaked to the skin by the time we found refuge in the pub, but we were happy.  The rain stopped and we sat outside with our drinks, the rich earthy smell of the soil and vegetation still in our noses and this work transpired that very afternoon!

Created in acrylic on canvas, I used a blend of greens, blues, and purples, to try to capture the dynamic beauty of our surroundings and the loose bold brushstrokes alludes to the feeling of pure joy and energy.

I later found out that the rich earthy smell actually has a name; Petrichor...the perfect title.
